Transcriptome analysis of hyperplastic and mild-dysplastic oral leukoplakias.

Oral leukoplakia (OL), an oral potentially malignant disorder begins with a hyperplastic stage and progresses through dysplasia before culminating to OSCC. In this study, we performed transcriptome sequencing of seven OL cases at hyperplastic or mild-dysplastic stages along with the surrounding normal tissues with no evidence of severe dysplasia or carcinoma to identify dysregulated transcripts and their association with oral cancer susceptibility.
