Vector boundary dataset of the Central Asian Porphyry Copper Metallogenic Domain (CAPCMD)

This dataset provides the vector boundary (Shapefile , WGS84 datum) of the Central Asian Porphyry Copper Metallogenic Domain (CAPCMD). The domain is delineated using a tectonic-unit exclusion approach within the initial extent of the Central Asian Orogenic Belt (CAOB), systematically excluding three units incompatible in tectonic affinity or post-ore cover (the Uralides, the West Siberian Basin and the Sikhote-Alin orogen) and aligning its final boundary with major suture zones and terrane edges. The CAPCMD spans approximately 6.82 × 10^6 km² in spherical area, extending ~5,000 km east–west and ~2,000 km north–south, and encompasses all known porphyry copper systems in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and the Chinese provinces of Xinjiang, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and Heilongjiang.
