Microbial diversity of a degraded Mediterranean soil

The primary aim of this research is to assess the impact of applying an organic amendment on the stability of soil multifunctionality in response to drought in a degraded Mediterranean soil. The experimental framework was designed to differentiate between the biological and physico-chemical effects resulting from the addition of the amendment. We investigated how soil physicochemical properties and microbial diversity influence plant productivity, biological activity, and the resistance of soil functions during a simulated drought event.
