Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract, is thought to develop due to dysregulated mucosal immune responses to gut flora in genetically susceptible individuals. Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) are the two major subtypes of IBD. To identify additional susceptibility loci for IBD in Asians, we performed meta-analyses using two genome-wide association studies.EGA study EGAS00001005026
