A total of 396 temperature proxy records from the Northern Hemisphere spanning the past millennium are compiled, including 370 tree-ring records, 15 ice core records, 9 lake sediment records, and 2 historical documentary records. This dataset is derived from the global temperature proxy dataset released by the PAGES2k Consortium in 2017. During the process of temperature data assimilation for reconstructing Northern Hemisphere temperatures over the past millennium (1000–2000 AD), further screening was conducted to retain only records with annual resolution. All proxy records included in this dataset have undergone strict quality inspections and validation of their temperature signals. This dataset can be used for hemispheric-scale and regional-scale temperature reconstructions of the Northern Hemisphere over the past millennium.
