VPRS 19248 Hospital Donations for Beds and Medical Equipment, Record Cards

This series comprises record cards documenting donations of beds and medical equipment to The Royal Melbourne Hospital (VA 1048). There are two sets of cards present in this series. The first set is titled “Plaques for Bed, Equipment or Other Rooms and Clinic Donations at the Hospital", and the cards contain listings for plaques under the headings of Theatres, Departments, Equipment, Miscellaneous and Wards. Under Wards, the cards list bed and room numbers, where in the ward the plaque is located, and the wording of the plaques. For other headings, the listing includes the types of equipment or items, locations, who donated the item, and when the plaques were erected. The second set of cards is titled “Donations to the Hospital”. The cards document donations of money used for bed plaques, the purchase of medical equipment, furniture, other items and new wards, clinics and services. Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Melbourne Hospital Archives.
