Simulation and survey data for testing the relationship between the process improvement practices and procurement maturity

The survey data has been collected in a digital environment through an online social network where procurement and supply chain professionals connect and communicate. The online survey remained open in 2019. It has gathered 96 responses, 22 out of which are soon excluded from the analysis due to the incomplete answers. Hence, the research sample consists of 74 complete questionnaires that procurement and supply chain professionals from manufacturing and service industries provide information from several Turkish companies. The simulation data has been generated by Markov Chain Monte Carlo analysis to test the Bayesian mean differences between the process improvement practitioner and not practitioner companies over the procurement maturity dimensions. Results indicate that firm-level process improvement practicing does not improve supply chain-level maturity. However, within-firm practices significantly improve firm-level maturity.
