Juglans regia genome sequencing. Juglans regia cultivar:Chandler

The genome sequence of cultivar Chandler have been developed by the same group of scientists at University of California, Davis, the University of Connecticut and Johns Hopkins University who sequenced, assembled, and annotated the loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) genome sequence. A Next Generation Sequencing strategy similar to the one developed for loblolly pine was used in this project to develop of a high quality reference walnut genome sequence.
