During microbial diversity study, multiple sea samples were collected from three islands in the West Sea of Korea with the objective to isolates a novel gliding predatory bacterium. The gliding strains were specifically targeted and screened for predatory activities against various prey cells. The predatory activities are investigated with SEM, comparative genomics, and transcriptomics analysis. We used this E.coli strain ML35 as prey bacteria.
