Trails

This dataset is a collection of lines representing the location of trails and paths within Carteret County, North Carolina. These lines were mapped using a Trimble GPS unit, data from OpenStreetMap, and data from Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail website. Information about trails in the county was acquired from the Carteret County Parks and Recreation Department.The purpose of this data is to show the locations of trails and other bicycle or pedestrian paths within Carteret County. These data include hiking trails, tracks, and multi-use paths. These data can be useful for reference by the general public, as well as park maintenance and improvement initiatives.
