We compared the gene expression patterns of H.amygdali populations living on winter and summer host plants from transcriptome level, aiming at providing a list of the potential genes involved in host shifting of aphids between primary and secondary host plants. Among these genes, possible salivary gland expressed genes and abundant proteins were predicted based on the salivary gland transcriptome of A. pisum. These genes are potential targets for developing new aphid control strategies.
