SLC30A10 deficiency is an inherited disease characterized by manganese excess, neurological dysfunction, liver disease, and polycythemia. It is due to loss of SLC30A10-mediated manganese excretion via the gastrointestinal tract. In this study, we investigate the role of intestinal iron transporters Dmt1 and ferroportin in absorption of manganese in Slc30a10-deficient mice.
