ENHANCING ENGLISH SPEAKING SKILLS IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS THROUGH TASK-BASED LANGUAGE TEACHING METHOD

This article explores the potential of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in enhancing English speaking skills among secondary school students. It provides an overview of the TBLT method, emphasizing its focus on real-world tasks and communicative language use. Through a comparative study involving two groups of secondary school students, the research highlights the positive impact of TBLT on students' speaking proficiency, fluency, pronunciation, and vocabulary use. The study also examines student engagement and motivation, revealing that TBLT's interactive and student-centered approach fosters a more dynamic learning environment. The article discusses the challenges of implementing TBLT, including the teacher's role and the complexities of assessment, but concludes that the method offers significant benefits in developing communicative competence. Recommendations for future research are provided to address the challenges of TBLT implementation and to further investigate its long-term effects on language acquisition.
