The CanadaTaxCourtOutcomesLegalBenchClassification dataset consists of text excerpts from Tax Court of Canada decisions involving tax-related appeals. The dataset is used for a classification task to determine whether the excerpt includes the outcome of the appeal, and if so, to specify whether the appeal was allowed or dismissed. Partial successes are also categorized as allowed, except for cost orders. The dataset is suitable for legal researchers conducting quantitative empirical legal research.
