Reading Room and Record Retrievals 20-21

Each year, up to 15,000 visitors attend the PROV reading room(s) to view original Victorian State Government historical records held within our collection.As 99% of our collection is in original hard copy format, a researcher must either order a record and request a remote photocopy or digital copy order or attend the reading room to view and make their own copies of the original record.PROV does not provide a research service for researchers who are unable to attend the reading room. A researcher must either engage a search agent or ask a friend or family member to attend on their behalf to view the original record.
