Some loci within the human genome contain high density of structural variants with many repeat fragments that are not only homologous to each other within the locus but also to other regions of the genome. We are developing an amplification technology that will enrich for specific loci under investigation. Focusing on these regions will reveal local polymorphisms and and structural variants with certainty. Amplified fragments with locus enrichment will be sequenced by both short read and long read technologies to provide data for correct assembly, providing certainty for correct positioning of structurally variant fragments.
