Vestfold Hills Field Survey Report 2012-2013

This report describes field work for the Capability Development Project in the Vestfold Hills, 2012-2013. The report concentrates on geotechnical observations from Adam's Flat north of Davis and includes land systems mapping, hand and excavator pit stratigraphy, terrestrial ecosystem observations, shallow ground water observations, seismic refraction (Shear waves) and seismic reflection transects, and surveying of land surface levels. An additional chapter contains observations of possible new wharf locations for Casey, Davis and Mawson. The report also describes a seismic profile across the Davis landfill site. The report includes documentation of the environmental impact of excavations conducted during past geotechnical surveys in the area that were not rehabilitated and efforts to remediate the worst examples.This project was part of the Year Round Aviation Access (YRAA) program, which was later replaced by the Davis Aerodrome Project (DAP).
