Dynamics of microbiota composition was studied during fermentation of nine structurally diverse pectins and a pectic derivative rhamnogalacturonan I (RGI). Fermentations were performed with microbiota from healthy adults (4 male and 4 female, pooled samples)using TIM-2 colon model in two biological replicates. Composition of the fecal microbiota was assessed by 16S rRNA gene sequencing using Illumina NextSeq technology.
