The genes highly expressed during microsclerotia formation were previously identified [40], and the primer sets for their amplification in this study are listed in Table 2. The V. dahliae β-tubulin (Bt), amplified using primers VerBt-F/R (see Materials and Methods), was used in relative expression analyses.
