Citrobacter sp. S-77 was isolated from Kumamoto, Japan. The strain S-77 could grow well under either aerobic or anaerobic culture conditions. The bacterium produces O2-stable enzymes, displaying a high catalytic efficiency with a remarkable O2-stability . In this genome sequence project, it can lead us to an understanding of the metabolic pathway of bacteria and enzymes under oxygenic or unoxygenic conditions.
