资源简介:
In order to improve febrile case management in the private sector, in coordination with the National Malaria Control Program, a consortium of partners including Population Services International (PSI) is implementing a five-country project funded by UNITAID. The goal of the project is to increase the appropriate use of quality-assured RDTs in private sector outlets. In Tanzania the project will start with 50 private sector facilities in three regions (Tanga, Morogoro and Mbeya). Client exit interviews will be conducted with adult clients exiting selected eligible outlets within the project area to assess whether any diagnostic test, including RDTs, was administered during the visit; appropriateness of treatment(s) received given test results; general dispensing/prescription habits (types of medicine(s) and dosing); and costs. A client satisfaction module will provide additional programmatic data to aid project managers monitor quality performance among participating facilities. A short provider questionnaire administered to the main staff member responsible for testing on the day of the exit interviews will collect additional data to investigate associations between reported client outcomes and provider knowledge, beliefs and practices.
