Dataset: Mangrove sediment organic matter and environmental variability (Kakum Mangrove system, Ghana)
收藏资源简介:
These datasets are made available to support mangrove research and to understand their service delivery, as well as the need to safeguard them for climate regulation. The datasets (collected between February and April 2017 from the Kakum Mangrove system of Ghana) are made up of two files (Fulldata and GrainOM). The Fulldata consists of 13 variables and 105 observations. There are four categorical variables (week, station, substation, and direction). The remaining variables are continuous, consisting of six hydrographic variables and three sediment characteristics. The GrainOM dataset also consists of 12 variables and 9 observations (corresponding to the total number of substations): the first two are categorical (stations and substations), followed by 7 grain size characteristics (mean weight of each grain size in respective substations and stations), and three sediment characteristics (mean weight and percentage composition of each variable in respective substations and stations). The data were gathered using a combination of field and laboratory methods; hydrographic data were gathered in situ using specified instruments, while sediment variables were estimated using laboratory methods (after in-situ sediment collection). We used these datasets for the manuscript "Unravelling the Impact of Environmental Variability on Mangrove Sediment Carbon Dynamics, " using descriptive statistics, multivariate analysis of variance of spatial-temporal analysis, inferential statistics (using general linear models and linear mixed effect models), and correlation and principal component analysis. In this manuscript, the variable, "Current" was renamed as "Flow velocity." The categorical variable, "Direction" was also unused in this manuscript.
