Isomaltooligosaccharides (IMOs) are enzymatic synthesized oligosaccharides shown potential prebiotic effects. Five IMOs substrates with various degree of polymerization (DP) between 2 to 16 are studied for their fermentabilities by human microbiome in the vitro batch fermentation model. 16S rDNA sequencing can demonstrate the changes of microbiome community structures after fermentation and explore the different DP of IMOs affect the bacterial community structures. The enterotypes of human maybe have an impact on it.
