DU145 prostate cancer cells were exposed for 50 days to a very low and no-toxic concentration of Aldrin (1 mM). We used microarrays to detect potential effects of Aldrin in gene expression under chronic exposure to Aldrin. Overall design: DU145 cells were seeded in a 6-well plate at density of 2x10e5 per well in the presence of 1uM of Aldrin to a final volume of 2ml of supplemented RPMI (final concentration of DMSO 0.01%). Cells were cultured in standard conditions and diluted every 3 days. Cultures were treated after every passage to complete the 50-day treatment.
