Comparative Analysis of Fecal Microbiota Between Raptors, Waders and Waterfowl

Gut microbiota play a vital role in the maintaining health and immunity of wild birds. Baotou Yellow River Wetland is located on the routes of East Asia/Australia Flyway of global bird migration and Qinghai Lake/Sanjiang Wetland bird migration in our country, which is an important transfer station for migratory bird. However, little is known about the comparision of the fecal microbiota of different wild birds in Yellow River National Wetland in Baotou, China, an important transit point for birds migrating all over the East Asia-Australian and Central Asian flyways.Here, we characterized the fecal bacterial microbiota and microbial potential function in 8 bird species from raptors, waders and waterfowl using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing to reveal the microbiota difference and microbiota interaction pattern
