Chromosome-Scale Haploid Genome Assembly of the Grape cultivar 'zhuosexiang'

The "Zheshuo Xiang" grape variety was selected as the subject for sequencing. This variety is a hybrid of both European and American grape species. The paternal parent is Royal Rose, while the maternal parent is Rose Lou (also known as Della Valley). It is a table grape variety that is also suitable for wine-making. The grape clusters are cylindrical in shape, with an average cluster weight of 175g and a maximum cluster weight of 250g. The grape berries are elliptical, with an average individual berry weight of 5g. The color is purple-red, and the flesh is soft with a slight presence of pulp sacs. The flavor is exceptionally sweet, with a rich strawberry aroma. Both ester and terpene compounds, such as linalool, which are representative of the fruity and floral scents, are abundantly present. The soluble solids content is 18%, the total acidity is 0.55%, and the juice extraction rate is 78%. The sequencing project includes Illumina platform second-generation sequencing, Hi-C sequencing, transcriptome sequencing, PacBio Sequel II platform HiFi sequencing, full-length transcriptome sequencing, and Oxford Nanopore PromethION platform ONT sequencing.
