Influence of infauna-bioturbation on viruses

We investigated how infauna affect sediment viral communities using metagenomic and metatranscriptomic data across an abundance gradient. Infauna strongly increased the diversity, abundance, and activity of DNA viruses, particularly lytic dsDNA phages, while RNA viruses showed little response.
