The microbial diversity of snottite-like biofilms thriving in drainage adits and access galleries of mines within the historic Freiberg silver mining district have not been systematically investigated yet. Both, taxonomic classification of community members and metal resistance determinants are part of the research on geomicrobiologically active microorganisms.
