Three species of tropical forage grasses (Brachiaria brizantha, Brachiaria decumbens, and Brachiaria hybrid cv Cobra) were grown in a greenhouse in Massachusetts and subjected to 3 different watering conditions (control, mild drought, severe drought) over a 22 day experimental period. During this time phyllosphere communities were determined on day 1, 12, and 22 in order to understand how host species impacts phyllopshere bacterial communities and understand how they change in response to drought stress in relation to their plant host.
