High temperature stress deserves more attention as globalwarming and presents an important challenge to healthy development of forestry. The geographically widespread and common ectomycorrhizal fungus, Cenococcum geophilum(C. geophilum), is abundant in arid, saline, heavy metal habitats. However, the physiological and molecular mechanisms of high temperature tolerance in this fungus are largely unknown. In this study, three temperature sensitive and three temperature tolerant isolates of C. geophilum were used to analyze the physiological and molecular responses to high temperature.
