This project studies the biodegradation of a water filtration membrane made of alginate/chitosan polyelectrolyte complex in a soil environment. The soil (control and membrane-treated) was sampled at 5 different time points within 6 months for shotgun sequencing to study the changes in the soil microbial community with time.
