single nuclei RNAseq data from Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) gill

An snRNAseq analysis of the Atlantic salmon gill to characterise its cellular complexity and development. Overall design: Atlantic salmon parr (>14cm) were raised on constant light, ad libitum food in freshwater. Smoltification was induced by photoperiod manipulation (8 weeks under short photoperiod 8h Light:16h Dark; 8 weeks back under constant light. Fish were collected at four timepoints (T1-4; n=2). T1 was parr fish under constant light at the beginning of the experiment. T2 were collected at the end of the 8 week exposure to short photoperiod. T3 were collected after 8 week return to constant light. T4 was collected after a subgroup of T3 were exposed to full strength seawater for 24h. Gill tissue were snap frozen until processing.
