Bikeways

Provides spatial extent, location, and type of bikeways in the CORE MPO Non-motorized Transportation Plan (adopted by MPO in October 2014), which covers the MPO planning area (including all of Chatham County, GA, and its municipalities, plus small portions of Effingham County and Bryan County, including Richmond Hill). Over time, the data in this file may differ from the originally adopted plan for the following reasons: 1) Fields related to the existing status, type of bikeway, or "bicycle level of service" for a given line segment will be updated in this layer as staff becomes aware of changing conditions on the ground; or 2) the MPO might make amendments to the Non-motorized Transportation Plan, which will be documented in an appendix of the plan as well as reflected in this file, if appropriate. Do not assume that all segments in the file represent segments that are currently bicycle-friendly. While existing bicycle lanes, etc. are included, most segments in file are currently shared lanes that are recommended to have improvements when possible in the future. (See metadata for certain fields in the description below.) CORE MPO makes no warranties, express or implied, on the safety of these facilities or routes.
