A harmonized CONUS stumpage price database (1995-2026, 2020 USD): multi-source compilation, predictive price model, and reproducible pipeline

A harmonized, multi-source stumpage price database for the conterminous United States, standardized to constant 2020 US dollars per cubic meter. Records were assembled from state natural-resource and revenue agencies, USDA Forest Service Cut-and-Sold reports, university extension programs, and TimberMart-South, then standardized to a common volumetric (cubic-meter) and real-dollar basis using the BLS Producer Price Index for logs, timber, and pulpwood (WPU085). The compilation spans 135,427 records from 1995 to 2026 across sawlog and pulpwood products. The release contains the redistributable derived products of the compilation: per-state and per-product price tables on three bases (trailing three-year, latest year, and 2015-onward median); a per-species within-group value multiplier table; a within-species residual coefficient-of-variation table; federal stumpage prices from USDA FS Cut-and-Sold; a hierarchical predictive price model with region-specific real-price trends and its 2024 predictions; an ecoregion-continuous price field input set and cleaned region trends; a state-level real-price forecast to 2070; a documented multi-source registry; a self-contained interactive price explorer; and the reproducible compilation pipeline. Note on TimberMart-South: raw TimberMart-South records are subscription-licensed and are NOT redistributed; only aggregated and derived products that incorporate them are included, consistent with the provider's terms.
