VPRS 16841 Investigations [Research Requests] Register

This series consists of an exercise book labelled 'Investigations' and a manila folder containing several loose pages and some collections of pages stapled together headed 'Summaries of Investigations Taken Out'. These appear to be a record of requests to the Royal Children's Hospital medical records section to obtain the number of cases of a particular disease over a certain period of time.The information includes the date of the request, the disease required, by whom requested, the number of cases identified, the year range over which the cases were identified ('series'), and the reason for the request, (eg. lecture, research, survey).The exercise book appears to have been created progressively, as each request was actioned. The loose papers, however, may have been compiled at a later date, perhaps for the purposes of compiling statistics related to the requests. Some of the summaries record the total number of cases across all requests for a particular period.Prior to transfer to Public Record Office Victoria, the records in this series were maintained as part of the Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) Archives. They were part of RCH accession number 2002/004.
