This dataset includes long-term and short-term analyses of cross-correlation, time lag, and Granger causality between Mekong River runoff and oceanic mass variation in the southern South China Sea. The long-term analysis covers the period from April 2003 to March 2015, while the short-term analysis is conducted for each three-year interval within this twelve-year span. Seasonal results were also provided for summer and winter. Granger causality tests were performed at a 5% significance level. Additionally, results with El Niño and the Southern Oscillation (ENSO) effects removed using wavelet analysis are provided.
