Barriers to digital inclusion - qualitative data

The data collected through structured interviews with 30 respondents in Poland. The research specifically focuses on the barriers to digital inclusion for older people, as identified by younger and middle-aged adults. The respondents themselves did not belong to the older demographic, which presents both a limitation and a unique perspective in the study.
The qualitative approach used interviews to gather perceptions and insights regarding the challenges older people face in developing digital competences. The responses were analyzed using grounded theory to identify and categorize various barriers, resulting in eight main categories: fear of new technologies, lack of need for ICT, self-marginalization, new media characteristics, attitude towards life-long learning, physical limitations, economic constraints, and infrastructural limitations​.
