This study investigates the metabolism of Methylacidiphilum strain RTK17.1, a thermophilic acidophile from the phylum Verrucomicrobia. The strain is methanotrophic and was isolated from the Rotokawa geothermal field in New Zealand. The study investigates the link between methantrophy, CO2 and nitrogen fixation and hydrogenases.
