Frequency of contact with friends and acquaintances in the Netherlands 2008-2018

Between 2008 and 2018, a sizable share of people surveyed in the Netherlands indicated that they were in touch with friends or acquaintances once per week or more frequently. In 2018, 60 percent of respondents had frequent contacts with friends and acquaintances. This marked an increase of close to five percent compared to the beginning of the time frame considered. Meanwhile, close to 30 percent of people surveyed saw their friends and acquaintances less than twice per month.
