This series comprises one volume. This volume is a register with printed columns and headings spread across the folios. The column headings are: Name; Description of Work; Locality; Quantity; Unit; Rate; Cost Chargeable; Payments; Date, Receipt Number, Amount; Folio Miscellaneous Cash Book; Remarks. There is a heading at the top of each folio that reads: Contributions to Works Regulation 305 (43) Schedule XXV1. The entries are handwritten and have been made in chronological order. Names entered in the Name column are generally names of municipal residents, government organisations (eg. Railway Commissioners, Colonial Treasurer) or private businesses. Examples of entries in the Description of Work column include asphalting, kerbing and guttering, gutter bridges, lighting and watering of tram lines. Entries in the Quantity, Unit and Rate columns generally refer to amounts of materials (eg asphalt) used; the monetary amount charged per unit (yard, foot, square yard etc.) of materials; and indications that the service has been charged for at half, third or some other fraction of the service cost. The volume also includes periodic financial reconciliation and summary statements with references to journal and ledger folio numbers.
