NRS-20548 | Payment books [Kamballa]

This series is payment books for inmates at Girl's Training Home, Parramatta and Kamballa.Within the payment books the pages are headed with the title 'Inmates trust account, schedule of payments'. Each payment book is arranged in chronological order and a double page is dedicated to a month of the year. One page contains a completed table and the other page contains the corresponding receipts. The receipts have been removed as described below.At the top of the completed table the month and year is recorded. The table is divided into columns with the following headings: Name, amount of payment, ledger folio, for what purpose used, signature, witness date, signature of superintendent, and signature of the post officer.The corresponding receipts for that month were taped into the payment book on the opposite page to the table. The tape securing the receipts was deteriorating so the receipts were removed for preservation purposes and placed into separate folders. The receipts were mirrored to the payment books and can be located by referring to the corresponding receipt book for the month and year.
