Whole-community (rRNA-depleted) metatranscriptome samples from the GRADIENTS 2 expedition (MGL1704) in May 27-Jun 11, 2017. Triplicate samples of ~10 liters of CTD-derived seawater were pre-filtered through a 100 micron mesh and collected sequentially onto 3.0 and 0.2 micron polycarbonate filters from the surface mixed layer (~15 m depth) along a transect (from 25 to 41 degrees N) in the North Pacific along 158 degrees W.
