Data and code for: Infodemic as Incident: An AI-Ready Framework for Countering Ebola Misinformation and Fraud in Nigeria

This record contains the data and code supporting the paper “Infodemic as Incident: An AI-Ready Framework for Countering Ebola Misinformation and Fraud in Nigeria.” The study treats the infodemic around Nigeria’s 2026 Bundibugyo virus outbreak as a security incident and uses only publicly available data. The record includes: (1) the codebook used to classify fact-checked claims; (2) the coded dataset of six unique Ebola-related claims fact-checked for Nigerian audiences between 15 May and 31 October 2026, with links to the original fact-checks; (3) the search log of 39 queries with dates and result counts, and the screening record; (4) raw certificate-transparency exports from crt.sh queries run on 29 October 2026, with screenshots of the queries that returned no certificates, re-captured on 31 October 2026; and (5) Python code for the descriptive statistics and the branching-process simulation of Ebola transmission, with its output. No personal data are included: names, handles and images of individuals who shared claims were not recorded. Copies of fact-check articles are not included; each claim is paraphrased and linked to its source. Data are licensed under CC BY 4.0. Code in the analysis and simulation folders is licensed under the MIT licence.
