The aim of this study was to investigate the transcriptional response of sunflower during the early stages of SHR. To this end, control and inoculated capitula of one susceptible (S) and two moderately resistant (R) inbred lines (ILs) were subjected to RNA-Seq at 0, 4 and 8 days post-inoculation (dpi) to analyze their expression patterns and provide a comprehensive view of the mechanisms underlying S. sclerotiorum infection.
