资源简介:

Under salinity stress, the relationship between reactive oxygen species (ROS) and K+/Na+ homeostasis is particularly interesting, as it represents a key aspect of salinity tolerance mechanisms. ROS can activate outward-rectifying K+ channels (GORK) and non-selective cation channels (NSCC), resulting in K+ efflux from cells. However, salt-tolerant species typically show reduced K+ efflux, which correlates with either improved ROS scavenging ability or decreased sensitivity of ion channels to ROS. Recent studies on halophytic quinoa present an unexpected finding. Compared to glycophytic spinach, quinoa shows greater ROS-induced K+ efflux as an initial response to oxidative stress, despite its known salinity tolerance. This observation suggests that ROS might play a specialized signaling role in stress adaptation in quinoa, rather than simply causing cellular damage.
