资源简介:
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to last‑resort polymyxins is surging in India, where colistin‑resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CR‑Kp) outbreaks have strained intensive‑care units and recorded case‑fatality above 50%. The World Health Organization’s 2024 Priority Pathogens List ranks carbapenem‑ and colistin‑resistant K. pneumoniae among its most critical threats, yet national averages hide stark state‑to‑state inequities. Pinpointing these “red‑zone” hospitals is an essential step in a) allocating stewardship support, and b) informing public health practice. Drawing on the Venus Remedies GASAR dataset, we will 1) map state-wide CR-Kp resistance, 2) identify “red-zone” facilities, 3) analyze structural drivers, and 4) launch an open-access AMR Equity Dashboard. Our multidisciplinary team (public health, pharmacy, data science) with global health experience will analyze the data and develop a dashboard within the challenge window. Our analysis will lead to audience-appropriate visuals, enticing state health departments to use our dashboard in prioritizing audits, guiding reserve‑drug procurement, and monitoring progress toward equitable containment. In order to foster reproducibility, adoption, and sustained use of these AMR datasets, we will openly share our final code, as well as provide an overview guide. Our project’s innovation stems from coupling India’s largest industry AMR dataset with equity‑focused analytics. We hope our project will safeguard colistin, advance India’s fight against AMR, and highlight the utility of the Vivli Initiative AMR Register. References: World Health Organization.
