A spatial dataset of biomass in tonnes associated with regions identified as having changed from grassland to woodland in the Grassland-Woodland change map of South Africa published by the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). Biomass information for woodland expansion areas was derived from the aboveground woody biomass data from the Carbon Sinks Atlas of South Africa.
