Nonsense mediated mRNA decay (NMD) pathway is a highly conserved mRNA surveillance and post-transcriptional regulation pathway in all eukaryotes. In order to study the regulation of NMD pathway on yeast transcriptome in response to copper excess and deficiency, we employed RNA sequencing on wild type and NMD mutant (upf1 mutant) Saccharomyces cerevisiae grown in varying environmental copper levels. This study will provide information about environmental condition effect on NMD pathway regulation.
