With the increasing numbers of immunocompromised human hosts, Aspergillus fumigatus emerges as a lethal opportunistic fungal pathogen as invasive aspergillosis. What status of host innate and acquired immunity determines whether the host will be protected or succumb to death is not clear. Fully knowing the global response of the host during infection could ultimately provide keys to a better therapeutic strategy to deal with aspergillosis patients. To gain better understanding of the complexity of host response in aspergillosis, we used RNA-Seq to obtain single 76 base reads of whole genome transcripts on a temporal basis during invasive aspergillosis in mice.
