This repository contains the datasets and codes for the research titled "Water-constrained revegetation potential in China’s drylands using a multi-data ensemble approach". The study focuses on assessing revegetation and conversion potentials. The repository includes the following Python scripts for data processing and analysis: calculate_human_water_data.py: Processeshuman water use data; calculate_AWR.py: Calculates available water resources (AWR) from multiple data sources; calculate_WUE.py: computes water use efficiency (WUE) for different vegetation types; calculate_revegetation_potential.py: Estimates revegetation potential based on water availability constraints; calculate_conversion_potential.py: Computes vegetation conversion potential between different land cover types, visualization scripts (figure2.py, figure3.py, figure4.py, figure5.py) for all manuscript figures. The processed_data.zip provides processed data, including: ensemble precipitation data from multiple sources, ensemble evapotranspiration (ET) data products, processed human water use data, revegetation potential assessments, vegetation conversion potential calculations, etc.
